Bolboci Lake in Bucegi Mountains, Romania

Bolboci Lake is an artificial lake created in 1988 by blocking the Ialomita river, but the interesting thing is that it doesn’t look like artificial one.

Until 1971 it could be used only in summer, because it had no oven and was not covered with sheet metal. It is at a distance of 8 km  from Sinaia and 10 km(2 hours away) from Cave Ialomita.

The lake it is situated at 1438 m altitude, in the heart of Bucegi Mountains.
